| How can it be eight years already? I watched the fireworks out the window tonight. It was like watching the fireworks eight years ago out of your hospital window. Were the fireworks celebrating your life? Welcoming you to heaven? | | |
| Merry Christmas Dear Danny

| Danny sweetheart, I am so thankful that you were in my life, even if for much too short a time. I am blessed to be your mother. Love, Mom | | |
| Danny was 10 years old on 9/11/2001. He was in the fifth grade. He didn't find out about it until he came home. He couldn't believe the school had kept it from them all day. He kept saying how awful it was that he was having a good day while such bad things were going on. The following is a paragraph he wrote at school:
"9/11 was the saddest thing I ever saw. But in a way it brought all of us closer together. But I'm sad that so many people had to die for that to happen. I wish that I could have done more to help them. I can't even imagine how sad and scared they were when they looked out the window and ran as fast as they could to safety. I think they were scared and did not know what was happening. I couldn't imagine seeing what they saw that day. They'll probably remember that for the rest of their lives. If I was going through life with that image in my head, I'd have a pretty tough time getting over it. Kids that experienced what happened that day handled it better than I think I could have." The link below takes you to an article about a teacher at Danny's school who wrote "America's Calling You" after that awful day. Danny was one of the children who was recorded singing "America's Calling You". It was written by a teacher in his elementary school and recorded by his friend's dad. http://www.thereporteronline.com/articles/2011/09/07/news/doc4e67deac7901c667561404.txt This link is to the recording on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spSf-NUKcew

| "If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you." A. A. Milne (Winnie the Pooh) | | |
